Oklahoma State Tennis Member Unable to Advance at National Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Top-ranked Oleksandr Nedovyesov was upset in the quarterfinals of the 2008 ITA National Indoor Championships on Friday.
In the round of 16, Nedovyesov stormed past Wake Forest's Cody Parr, 6-2, 6-4, early Friday afternoon. Parr, a member of the top-ranked doubles team in the tournament, could not keep up with Nedovyesov's strong serves.
Nedovyesov could not extend his winning streak, as he fell to eighth-ranked Ohio State's Bryan Koniecko 6-2, 6-2, in the quarterfinals match. Koniecko played quite well in the match and proved to be too much for the top-ranked Nedovyesov.
Nedovyesov, a junior from Alushta, Ukraine, currently holds a 13-2 record in singles competition this fall season. He will return to Stillwater to practice with the team in preparation for the start of the spring season in a couple months.
