Oklahoma State officially opens the Travis Ford era on Friday, Nov. 14, as the Cowboys host the UTSA Roadrunners in the season opener. OSU won its two exhibition games by an average margin of 42.5 points. Senior guard Terrel Harris averaged 24 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two exhibition games, and seven players averaged in double figures for points. Harris also had 14 steals in the two games. Ibrahima Thomas recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Cowboys shot 50.3 percent from the floor, including 41.4 percent from beyond the three-point arc. OSU averaged 83.5 shots per game, including 35 from long range.
About UTSA
UTSA won its only exhibition game during the preseason, a 78-64 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor. Devin Gibson led the Roadrunners with 22 points, while three other players reached double figures. Omar Johnson and Morris Smith both scored 12 points while Travis Gabbidon chipped in 11 for UTSA. The Roadrunners forced 32 turnovers and had 20 steals. UTSA actually trailed Mary Hardin-Baylor by one at halftime, 33-32, but outscored The Cru 46-31 in the second stanza.
