October 08, 2008 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER, Okla. Â Oklahoma State's Oleksandr Nedovyesov will begin play Thursday in Tulsa in the first round of the D'Novo Men's All-American Championship, which is the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's first national event of the 2008-2009 season.
Widely considered to be the most competitive tournament of the fall, the D'Novo will feature the nation's top 64 players. The number one ranked Nedovyesov earned a one seed for the singles draw.
Cowboy senior Nathan Byrnes will join Nedovyesov in the doubles draw. Although the two are the 10th ranked tandem in the country, they will not be seeded in this event.
“It's going to be very tough,” Nedovyesov said. “This tournament is the first big chance for me to prove myself. To win this tournament is to be the best in the country.”
Nedovyesov will begin singles play Thursday morning. He and Byrnes will compete in doubles Thursday afternoon.
