October 03, 2008 | Cowboy Tennis
STILLWATER, Okla.  Cowboy tennis sophomore Anton Bobytskyi will compete in the pre-qualifying round of the D'Novo Men's All-American Tennis Championships Friday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.
The event is the first national singles and doubles titles event of the 2008-2009 season, and the fourth straight year Tulsa has been the host. The tournament will feature top-ranked tennis players from across the country.Â
“I expect to make it through the pre-qualifying round and hopefully through the qualifying round,” Bobytskyi said. “I don't know, though. My injury might slow me down. It is going to be very difficult.” Â
Bobytskyi will enter the 256-player pre-qualifying singles tournament tomorrow that will last throughout the weekend. The field is trimmed to 128, then to 64 for the final draw to be played October 9-12.
