Andy Shaw, a member of the Cowboy Basketball team the past two seasons, has decided to focus on his coaching career. He will serve as a student assistant for the Cowboy staff while working on his bachelor's degree.
Shaw came to Oklahoma State from Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Okla., where he was a teammate of current Cowboy Obi Muonelo. Shaw was named Mr. Santa Fe High School following his senior year. He was invited to participate in the Jim Thorpe All-Star contest and was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
A member of the Class 6A state champions in 2005 and the state runners-up in 2006, Shaw was recruited by Samford and Binghamton, but elected to join the Cowboys as a walk-on.
Born July 23, 1987, Shaw is the son of Bill and Patricia Shaw. He has a younger brother, Hayden. Both his mother and father attended Oklahoma State. Shaw is majoring in health promotions at Oklahoma State.
