Capacity Crowd Attends Homecoming & Hoops
October 21, 2008 | Cowboy Basketball
The evening began with the announcement of honorees up for the Homecoming king and queen awards. That was followed by Cowboy football coach Mike Gundy and a select number of players gave props to the students and fans for their support of the eighth-ranked football team.
Oklahoma State's Cowboy Basketball team then took the court and didn't disappoint with its up-tempo offense and aggressive, pressure defense. The White team, led by freshman Keiton Page's nine points, defeated the Orange squad, 26-25. Senior Byron Eaton led the Orange team with 10 points. Sophomore James Anderson, OSU's leading leading scorer a year ago, scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds for the White squad.
The Cowboys' up-tempo offense produced a combined 51 points in just two six-minute periods ... with a running clock!
Oklahoma State's women's team then took the court, with the Black team defeating the Orange squad, 15-8. The Cowgirls are ranked as high as 12th nationally in the preseason polls.
