Cowboy Tandem to Compete for Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Â– Oklahoma State doubles tandem Nathan Byrnes and Oleksandr Nedovyesov stormed through the semifinals of the 2008 Wilson/ITA Central Regional Championships on Sunday.

The duo's 8-5 victory against the third string Hogan/Strode combination of Arkansas is their fourth straight win of the season.

First seeded Byrnes and Nedovyesov will face the unranked Aumueller/Lindheim tandem in the finals match on Monday. The duo from Nebraska upset the second seed from Tulsa in the first round of the doubles draw on Friday and proceeded to beat their fourth seeded teammates Bendheim and Paar in the semifinals match.

The Oklahoma State doubles team will need to win Monday's match to advance to the National Indoor Championships in Charlottesville, Va. next month. Nedovyesov qualified in singles with his second place finish in last week's All-American Championship. Byrnes was eliminated in singles on Saturday.
