Cowboys Take to Court Against Ole Miss
January 31, 2008 | Cowboy Tennis
No. 19 Oklahoma State vs. No. 5 Ole Miss
Oklahoma State's men's tennis team will head to Tulsa, Okla., to host the Rebels of Ole Miss on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
Bouncing Back from Defeat
The 19th-ranked Cowboys (1-1) are looking to bounce back from a tough 4-3 loss to Califorina last Sunday, but getting back on the winning track will be a challenge against the fifth-ranked Rebels. Ole Miss (1-1) was the preseason pick to win the SEC. Their one loss this season was a 4-2 loss to No. 3 Ohio State.
No. 1 and No. 2 Taking Care of Business
Cowboy head coach James Wadley knew coming into the season that the strength of his team rested on the shoulders of sophomore Oleksandr Nedovyesov and senior Ivan Puchkarov. Nedovysov has looked strong at No. 1 thus far, as he defeated Cal's Pierre Mouillion, 6-3, 6-2, last Sunday. Puchkarov has been strong at No.2, as he picked up OSU's other singles victory against Cal, defeating Kallim Stewart, 7-6, 1-6, 6-3.
