On the game
“You can't make mistakes and beat a team like Kansas State, because they don't beat themselves. We can't have one person in double figures and win a game like this. We praise the girls when we win, but they have to be able to take the criticism when we lose. We had our two seniors go 5-for-20. We're not going to win too many games when our seniors go 5-for-20. It was just the little things tonight. We have to be as close to perfect as we can be to win any game in the Big 12, let alone against maybe the best team in Kansas State.
“It's disappointing. I am very proud of the crowd tonight. They came out and did their job. They did a wonderful job of supporting us and we let them down tonight. This is one we could have got. I think the game changed when we were up 37-30, and we lose (Kimberly) Dietz, who is a senior that didn't do a thing in the first half, but she came out and didn't pout or whine, she just came out and had a tremendous second half. Those two three-pointers she hit to get them right back in the game, I think , changed the game.”
On Kansas State
“I think the tempo was okay. They don't give you much of a chance to run when they shoot like they shot in the second half. We talked to our players about picking up the pace a little bit, but when they shoot 56 percent, it is hard to come off a make and get your tempo where you want it. We just have to give them credit. They are a very good team.”
On missed opportunities
“We out-rebounded them 52-30 and got beat. There were a lot of follow shots in there that we didn't take advantage of or just a lot of wasted opportunities. 26 offensive rebounds is tremendous. We almost had more offensive rebounds than they had total rebounds, so we didn't take advantage of our second chances.”

“I think for us this was a tale of two halves. I was really proud of the way our team responded in the second half on both ends of the floor. We went into halftime feeling like we weren't playing characteristic of ourselves on the offensive end. I think our second half numbers demonstrated that we were playing more efficiently and were more confidently. Our defense also stepped up a notch. We knew we had to work very hard. I thought we did a really good job.

We have to give credit to On Kimberly Dietz second-half performance: “It was phenomenal to watch a player come in after halftime after really struggling. It shows her maturity and her understanding of a 40-minute game and her confidence in her teammates. It's sounds simplistic but it's so impressive to see a player struggle in the first half then come back and dominate in the second half.”
