Oklahoma State has opened Big 12 Conference play with a win for the seventh time in the 12 seasons since the Big 12 was formed. The Cowboys have begun league play with a 2-0 mark on four occasions.
Oklahoma State is 6-5 in Big 12 road openers. Nine of those 11 have been at South Division schools, including twice at Baylor.
The Cowboys are playing on television for the 12th time this season, including their fifth appearance on the Cowboy Sports Network. OSU is 3-1 in its previous four games on CSN.
The last three games in the series between the Cowboys and Baylor have all been decided by four or fewer points.
OSUs 79.7 winning percentage against Baylor is its highest vs. any opponent with at least 20 games in the series.
The Cowboys will play their first six conference games within 20 minutes of Interstate 35. Three of those games are in Stillwater, while the other three are in Waco, Ames and Norman. I-35 goes through all three cities.
OSU has lost 14-consecutive road games, including 11-straight league road contests.
Series History with the Bears
This will be the 60th meeting between these two schools on the hardwood all-time, and the 25th meeting since they both joined the Big 12 Conference.
OSU is 47-12 all-time vs. Baylor and 20-4 since the Big 12 formed, including two meetings in the Big 12 Tournament.
The Cowboys have won seven of the last eight games in the series and 18 of the last 20 played in Stillwater. OSU is 8-3 in Waco since the Big 12 formed.
Oklahoma State has lost four meetings with the Bears since the Big 12 formed by a combined total of nine points. BUs largest margin of victory in that span was a four-point win in the last meeting.
Nine of OSUs 12 losses in the series have been by four or fewer points.
The last three meetings have all been decided by for or fewer points.
Junior Terrel Harris is averaging 10.8 points in four meetings with Baylor in his career.
Senior Tyler Hatch set his career high with six points against Baylor in the last meeting on March 3 of last year.
Former Cowboy JamesOn Curry scored 40 points in the last meeting, the fifth-most points scored by an individual in school history. It was the most points scored by an OSU player in 12 years, since current assistant strength and conditioning coach Randy Rutherford scored 45 at Kansas on March 5, 1995.
From Long Range
Of OSUs 849 shot attempts this season, 326 have been from beyond the three-point arc, or 38.4 percent.
The highest percentage for a single season is 33.5 percent in 1998-99, when 643 of the Pokes 1,920 shots were from long range.
The Cowboys attempted 34 three-point shots against North Texas, the most in school history.
The previous record was 31 attempts from long range against Gonzaga in the All-College Classic in Oklahoma City on Dec. 28, 2004.
As a team, Oklahoma State has attempted 30 or more shots from beyond the arc on four occasions all-time, including twice this season (34 at North Texas, 32 vs. East Tennessee State).
On the flip side, OSU limited Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to just 1-of-18 shots from three-point range, establishing a Gallagher-Iba Arena record with at least 10 attempts. The previous low was 1-of-17 by Baylor on Jan. 20, 1999.
The Pokes held Northwestern State to 1-of-16 makes from long range and limited Texas Tech to just 1-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.
Forcing Turnovers
Oklahoma State has forced 304 turnovers this season, an average of just over 20 per game. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have committed just over 16.5 miscues per game, a +3.73 turnover margin.
The highest turnover margin for a single season in school history occurred during the 1997-98 season, when OSU had a +3.52 turnover margin.
Pick Pockets
Oklahoma State had 18 steals during the Prairie View A&M game, the second most in school history. The Pokes had 12 at halftime, establishing a school record for steals in a single period.
The Cowboys are currently averaging 10.13 steals per contest. The school record is nine thefts per game, set during the 1988-89 season.
Eaton Moving up Steals Chart
Byron Eaton has recorded 155 steals in his three-year career at OSU.
With two vs. Texas Tech in the last outing, he moved past Joe Adkins (154) and into a tie for seventh place with Matt Clark on the career steals list.
The Dallas, Texas, native is also just the fifth Cowboy in school history to have at least 10 games with four or more steals.
The all-time career record at Oklahoma State is 170 steals set by Ivan McFarlin from 2001-05.
Eaton is only the seventh Cowboy to have recorded at least 250 assists and 150 steals in a career.
Dove Swatting Shots
Senior Marcus Dove has 79 career blocked shots, moving past Andrew Jones for ninth place on the school list.
Dove has blocked four shots on two occasions, including this year vs. NSU.
Dove is just the fifth Cowboy in school history to have blocked at least 75 shots and recorded at least 100 steals in a career. Dove has 79 and 115.
Freshman Phenom
Freshman guard James Anderson is 15 games into his collegiate career and has shown that he could potentially be one of the best players to ever come through Stillwater.
In his first official game in an OSU uniform, Anderson scored a game-high 29 points, tying the school record for most points by a freshman. Byron Houston had 29 against Kansas State on Jan. 25, 1989.
Andersons 29 points were also the fourth-most by any Cowboy in a season opener, regardless of class.
He has scored at least 20 points on six occasions this season. The school record for a freshman is 14 set by Richard Dumas during the 1987-88 season.
Dumas holds the school single-season scoring average mark for a freshman with 17.4 points per game.

OSU in the Big 12 Rankings
Oklahoma State ranks in the Big 12s top five in five statistical categories.
The Cowboys lead the league in free-throw shooting at 72.2 percent.
OSU is third the league in steals, averaging 10.13 thefts per game. Kansas leads the conference at 11.13 steals per game, while Missouri is second at 10.19 steals per contest.
Oklahoma State is third in three-pointers made per game, averaging 7.67 treys per contest. Baylor leads the league at 9.07 per game, while Texas is second at 7.94 per contest.
The Cowboys are also third in three-point field goal percentage defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 31.8 percent from beyond the arc. Missouri is allowing a 26.6 shooting percentage while Oklahoma is allowing 30.3 percent.
The Pokes are fourth in the Big 12 in turnover margin at +3.73.
Individually, freshman James Anderson ranks fourth in the league in scoring at 16.5 points per game. He ranks third in three-point field goals made per game at 2.47, is fifth in three-point percentage at 40.2 percent and eighth in free-throw percentage (72.9 percent) and 13th in field-goal percentage (44.9).
Byron Eaton leads the Big 12 with his 82.9 free-throw shooting percentage. He is 10th in the Big 12 with his 1.92 assist-to-turnover ratio and is also 13th in assists at 3.2 per game.
Marcus Dove is third in the league in steals with 2.47 thefts per contest. Eaton is fourth in the same category, averaging 2.27 per contest. Terrel Harris is ninth at 1.80 steals per game.
