September 05, 2007 | Cowgirl Basketball
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team has completed its schedule for the upcoming season it was announced today by head coach Kurt Budke.
Coming off their first NCAA Tournament berth since 1996, the Cowgirls will navigate a 29-game slate that will have them looking to build upon last year's 20-11 record and their distinction as the most improved team in the country.
All told, OSU will take on eight teams that reached the NCAA Tournament a year ago and will have three games broadcast by Fox Sports Net and one carried on ESPN2.
Budke's squad will open with four consecutive home games, beginning with its Nov. 9 season opener against Air Force and will play at home 17 times overall.
The Cowgirls will head to California in late November for contests against UC Riverside and Fresno, both squad's OSU battled a year ago in Stillwater, before returning home to face Arkansas State and Wichita State.
Games against TCU and North Texas close out the road portion of the non-conference schedule before three consecutive home games, including in-state foe Oral Roberts, will lead into Big 12 play.
Conference play will get underway on Jan. 9 at Kansas for the Cowgirls before they return to Stillwater to renew the Bedlam Series on Jan. 12 against Oklahoma in their Big 12 home opener.
FSN will televise OSU's Jan. 19 contest at Texas A&M and will also carry the Cowgirls' tilt with Kansas State on Jan. 27.
The squad's Feb. 10 game between against Nebraska in Lincoln will be telecast on ESPN2 as part of the Women's Basketball February Frenzy, ESPN's tune-up to its NCAA Tournament coverage.
After a pair of home games against Iowa State and Texas, the Cowgirls will travel to Oklahoma on Feb. 23 for the third of their FSN-televised contests.
OSU's Senior Night opponent on March 1 will come in the form of Texas Tech before closing out the regular season on March 6 in Waco, Texas against Baylor.
