Kinnerud Advances at Ladies? British Open Amateur Championship

Kinnerud won her first match by defeating Florentyna Parker of England, 1-up in 19 holes. The OSU junior-to-be had to win holes 17 and 18 to tie the match, then won it on the first extra hole.
In her second-round matchup, Kinnerud defeated Scotland's Jenna Wilson, 2 and 1. With the victory, she advances to Friday's third round where she will face fellow Swede and Arizona State sophomore-to-be Anna Nordqvist. That duo played together during the final round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships three weeks ago.
Johnson Falls at WWGA National Amateur Championship
URBANA, Ill. Â Oklahoma State's Amanda Johnson won her first match on Thursday morning, but lost during the third round of the 107th National Amateur Championship sponsored by the Women's Western Golf Association here at the Stone Creek Golf Club.
Johnson won her first match, 3 and 2, over Marie Dhel Dela Paz of the Philippines. However, she lost third-round match, 5 and 4, to Stefanie Page of The Woodlands, Texas, during the afternoon session.
Johnson, a Jenks, Okla., native, will return home and have an opportunity to defend her title at the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Match Play championships, June 18-22, at the Stillwater Country Club.
