Cowboys Fall to No. 11 Texas in Big 12 Semifinals

Oklahoma State's 12th-ranked men's tennis team fell to No. 11 Texas, 4-1, in the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship Saturday in Kansas City.
The Longhorns, who fell to the Cowboys 6-1 earlier this season, got wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles to take an early, 1-0, advantage.
Senior Artie Burmistrau evened up the score by defeating Josh Zavala, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 5 singles.
Texas would go on to win at No 1, 3 and 6 singles to win the match, 4-1. At No. 2 singles, Ivan Puchkarov, ranked No. 29, was up in the third set when play was halted.
The Cowboys will now wait to see their NCAA fate as the 2007 brackets will be revealed Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., on ESPN News. OSU has hosted an NCAA Regional the past two seasons.
