Meet ?n Greet OSU Student-Athletes for Special Olympics
February 07, 2007 | Cowboy Basketball
Hosted by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), comprised of OSU student-athletes who are responsible for a number of community service projects, this unique opportunity for autographs and photos will begin at 6:30 pm in the O-Club Room, located on the west concourse level of Gallagher-Iba Arena. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm. A valid game ticket is required for admission to the event.
Special Olympics is an international non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive, and respected members of society through sports training and competition. A silent auction during the event will help raise money for this important cause. Items up for bid include memorabilia from each OSU sports team and other great prizes. Additional donations are also encouraged.
“The event is going to be very exciting. We have a lot of great auction items available from each sports team at OSU, and the proceeds will go to benefit the wonderful people of Special Olympics,” says SAAC representative Niccole Grimaldi, a junior on the Cowgirl soccer team. “As OSU student-athletes, we are blessed with so many opportunities, and we want the members of Special Olympics to be able to compete and enjoy sports the same way we do, to accomplish their goals and achieve their dreams."
