Oklahoma State hosts Washington as part of the inaugural Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series. Other games include Oregon at Kansas State and Oklahoma at USC on Thursday, Iowa State at Oregon State and Washington State at Baylor on Friday, and Missouri at California on Saturday. The Series will conclude with Kansas at USC, Stanford at Colorado, Arizona State at Nebraska, Texas A&M at Arizona and Texas at UCLA on Sunday.
Oklahoma State is playing its fourth-consecutive non-conference game vs. an opponent from one of the BCS conferences. The last time OSU played at least four-straight games against current BCS members occurred during the 1974-75 season.
The Cowboys played six straight vs. BCS teams that season: Alabama, USC, UCLA, Texas a non-conference member at the time Villanova and Kentucky.
This will mark OSUs 51st meeting with a Pac-10 school. The Cowboys are 25-25 all-time vs. Pac-10 foes.
Iba Reunion this Weekend
Approximately 65 former Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma State players, all whom played for Mr. Henry Iba, will attend Saturdays game.
Sam Aubrey, Les Berryhill and Doyle Parrack, former assistant coaches under Iba, will be in attendance.
The list of attendees includes two-time All-Americans Bob Mattick and Arlen Clark, as well as All-Americans Gale McArthur and Mel Wright.
Several members of the 1945 and 1946 National Champion teams will be in attendance, including Carl Alexander, Aubrey, Paul Geymann, Parrack and John Wylie.
Arlen Clark made 24-of-24 free throws in a game vs. Colorado in 1959, an NCAA record.
About the Huskies
Washington is 4-2 this season and coming off an 84-69 win over Long Beach State on Monday.
The Huskies are led by junior forward Jon Brockman who is averaging 18.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
Junior guard Justin Dentmon is averaging 13.8 points per contest, while sophomore forward Quincy Pondexter is chipping in 10.2 points per game.
Both Husky losses have been to ranked opponents, falling to Texas A&M and Syracuse in the Preseason NIT in New York City.
OSU in the Big 12 Statistical Rankings
Oklahoma State ranks in the Big 12s top five in four statistical categories.
The Cowboys are second in steals, averaging 11.20 steals per game. Kansas leads the league, averaging 11.33 steals per contest.
OSU is third in offensive rebounding, averaging 12.4 offensive boards per game.
The Pokes are fourth in turnover margin, with a +6.4 margin.
OSU is also fourth in the league, averaging 8.2 three-point field goals made per game.
Individually, junior guard Byron Eaton leads the conference in steals, averaging 2.80 per contest.
Freshman James Anderson ranks third in the league in scoring at 19.2 points per game. He alos ranks 10th in field goal shooting, three-point field goal shooting and free throw shooting. He is fifth in treys per game.
