The Cowgirls (9-0) went on a 15-4 run early in the opening half and took a 24-9 lead after back-to-back 3-pointers by Taylor Hardeman. Oklahoma State scored nine straight points to close the period and held a 38-18 advantage at halftime.
An inside basket by Smith early in the second half sparked a 12-0 run for the Cowgirls. For Texas Southern (2-8), which lost its fourth straight, Ahkila Gorman led the way with 11 points.
Oklahoma State, which travels to Kansas for its Big 12 opener on Jan. 9, has won 23 consecutive home games against nonconference opponents.
