The game started slow as neither team scored until Dove hit a layup nearly two minutes into the game. Justin Wilkerson's jumper made the score 7-5 Oklahoma State, but the Cowboys then went on a 14-0 run to take a 16-point lead and it was a blowout from that point on.
Three Cowboys  Dove, Obi Muonelo and James Anderson  each had 11 points at intermission. Oklahoma State was shooting 56.1 percent at the half, compared to just 28 percent by the Tigers. OSU had also forced a 19-3 turnover edge in the first period, scoring 21 points off those ECU miscues.
For the game, the Cowboys forced 29 turnovers while committing just eight. OSU also had 24 assists, a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Muonelo also finished with 17 points while Terrel Harris struggled from the floor but finished with 12. Byron Eaton dished out nine assists and had just two turnovers in 16 minutes off the bench.
The two areas the Pokes lacked in were rebounding and free-throw shooting. OSU outrebounded East Central by just four, 42-38, and gave up 14 offensive rebounds. Oklahoma State shot just 53.3 percent from the free-throw line, connecting on just 8-of-15 free shots.
Oklahoma State finished the exhibition portion of its schedule with a 2-0 mark. The Cowboys will open the regular season on Friday night as they host Prairie View A&M at 8:30 p.m. following the women's game inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
