OSU vs. Arkansas State
Cowgirl Head Coach Kurt Budke
On the win
“This is an impressive win tonight. This is a good team who has played very good competition. They beat Alabama, beat BYU, lost to Washington by 10, and played South Dakota State. The have played a heck of a schedule. They weren't afraid of us and they showed that early. I thought we made some decent adjustments defensively, mixed it up a little bit on them, and got active. One of the things that I wrote up on the board before the game was Âpush the pace'. I thought we were deeper, I thought we were quicker, and I thought the pace could get to them. I think you saw a point in that game when it really got to them. I think Chontaye Walter came in and made some tremendous passes on those breaks and kept it up when Andrea (Riley) was out. This is the kind of win  people across America know this team, they know how good of coach he is  this is the kind of win that people will see in the paper tomorrow and say, ÂThat's a good one.'”
On defense leading to offense
“I just thought the kids were very active. I thought we had a good scouting report. We got hands in the passing lanes. Man, zone, or whatever, as long as we are active and trying to get deflections. When our team gets deflections, we get run-outs. And when we get run-outs, we are hard to catch from behind.
On shooting 54 percent on the night
“I think we are finally away from where we were early in the season of forcing some shots that didn't need to be put up. We were shooting a lot of challenged shots. When you play this level of basketball, there are always going to be some challenged shots that you shoot during the game. Andrea is going to do that and (Danielle Greene) is going to do that, but we are doing a better job of passing those opportunities up and getting the ball to the open person and that is when that shooting percentage is going to come up. You saw a lot of next passes tonight that got us wide open shots.”
