Cowgirl Basketball Rolls Past Arkansas State, 96-54

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team rode an impressive offensive performance on Thursday night to a 96-54 victory over Arkansas State in front of 1,679 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Five players, including four starters, scored in double figures for the Cowgirls, who improved to 7-0 on the season. The point total was OSU's highest since a 96-point effort against Missouri-Kansas City on Nov. 30, 2006.
Arkansas State (4-3) stayed close in the early going and took an 18-17 lead at the 11:52 mark before the Cowgirls exploded with a 17-2 run over the next six minutes to gain control of the contest.
After building a 45-29 lead heading into halftime, OSU erupted for its third 50-point half of the season, scoring 51 points over the final 20 minutes.
The Cowgirls shot 54 percent from the floor in the contest and had assists on 25 of their 37 field goals to go against just 12 turnovers.
The OSU defense was equally impressive, holding the Lady Indians to a 34 percent shooting night and recording 19 steals on 30 ASU turnovers.
Senior Maria Cordero paced the Cowgirls with 21 points and six rebounds, while sophomore Andrea Riley extended her string of consecutive double-figure scoring games to 17 with 19 points to go along with six assists and four steals.
Senior Danielle Green finished with 16 points, five assists and a game-high five steals, while junior Taylor Hardeman got back on track offensively with 12 points of her own.
Freshman Kristin Hernandez came off the bench to add 12 points and three steals.
OSU will be back in action on Dec. 4 when it hosts Wichita State at 7 p.m.
