November 16, 2007 | Cowgirl Basketball
“I have never had a player that has worked as hard on her game or spent as much time in the gym as Kelsey has,” Cowgirl head coach Kurt Budke said. “She is one of the top five shooters in the country and we are very fortunate to have her.”
Through two seasons at Central Arkansas Christian, Hatcher compiled 912 points to rank fifth on the school's all-time scoring chart. Last season, Hatcher averaged 14.8 points per game and set the school's single-season record for 3-pointers with 69, while leading the Lady Mustangs to their third consecutive state title.
Ranked among the top 25 seniors nationally by the Collegiate Girls Basketball Report, Hatcher opened her senior campaign earlier this week with a 41-point outing that included six 3-pointers.
A native of Little Rock, Ark., Hatcher captured 10 combined state titles through the first three years of her high school career, winning two basketball and three soccer team titles. Individually, Hatcher captured for track titles and one cross country championship and has earned all-state honors in four different sports.
Hatcher will join the program for the 2008-09 season.
