OSU vs. High Point Postgame Quotes
November 15, 2007 | Cowgirl Basketball
OSU Head Coach Kurt Budke
On the first half
“I thought that the first 20 (minutes) was really good. They're a hard team to guard and they can make some tough shots. We saw it on tape before they came in here that they had the ability to hit some jump shots in your face and they did that. They hustle and their coach does a great job with them.”
On the second half
“We showed our immaturity in the second half and I think if you put a number of total minutes out of 40 we played well tonight, I'd say it's about 22 or 23, right where we've been for the first couple games. I told the girls after the game I'm looking big picture, not just tonight and tonight was not good enough to win in the Big 12.”
On OSU's second half struggles
“We let our offensive production dictate our defense and that's what I was talking to the veterans about more than the new kids. I thought the new players did fine tonight, I thought the veterans did a terrible job. If you ball is not going in you can't let it effect you on the defensive end.”
On what positives he can take away from the game
“The first 20 minutes are about the only thing I can be happy with and then I think Megan Byford and Shyvon Spears both took a little step tonight. We've been really talking to them about slowing down and letting the game come to them and not try to do something so quick every time they catch the basketball and I thought they both did decent tonight"
