Cowgirl Basketball Remains Unbeaten With Win Over High Point

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team kept its unbeaten mark in tact on Wednesday night with a 76-48 win over High Point in front of 1,128 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls (3-0) clicked early offensively, racing out to a 40-18 lead through the first 20 minutes. OSU hit 49 percent of its shots in the half and saw eight different players get in the scoring column. Meanwhile, the Panthers (1-2) managed just seven field goals in the period.
OSU led by double figures for much of the half and pushed the margin to 18 with 7:40 remaining before High Point made a run to cut the lead to 13. OSU answered with a 9-2 run that included five consecutive points from Andrea Riley to build its biggest lead at 22 heading into the locker room.
The Cowgirls had trouble getting on track offensively in the second half as the Panthers held OSU to a 29 percent shooting clip. However, High Point was unable to take advantage as it could get no closer than 16.
Riley led all scorers with 17 points along with a game-high seven assists and four steals.
Senior Maria Cordero recorded her second consecutive double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Danielle Green was the only other player to reach double figures with 12 points.
Junior Shyvon Spears came off the bench with a game-high 12 rebounds for the Cowgirls in 18 minutes of work.
The Cowgirls will close out their four-game homestand on Saturday when they host Sam Houston State at 2 p.m.
