Cowgirls Continue Homestand Against High Point
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team will look to run its winning streak to three games on Wednesday night when it hosts High Point (1-1) at 7 p.m. in Stillwater. The Cowgirls enter the contest fresh off a 91-54 win over Lamar on Monday.
For Starters
The Cowgirls enter the 2007-08 season trying to duplicate their start from a year ago when they reeled off an eight-game winning streak. The string was the program's longest since a 10-game streak to start the 1995-96 campaign.
About The Panthers
High Point enters the Wednesday's contest looking to bounce back from a 103-64 loss at Virginia Tech on Nov. 11. The Panthers opened the season on Nov. 10 at home with a 74-62 win over King College. A pair of players are averaging double figures for HPU as Jurica Hargraves and LaTeisha Dean check in at 11.5 ppg and 11.0 ppg., respectively.
The Panthers return one starter, senior forward Amber Manuel, from last year's squad that earned a WNIT berth and finished with an 18-12 record.
The Series
The Cowgirls and Panthers have never previously met.
What 2 Watch 4
OSU will be looking to extend its non-conference home winning streak to 17 games ... a win would give OSU a 3-0 start for the second consecutive season ... the Cowgirls haven't started with three-straight wins in consecutive seasons since the 1995-96 and 1996-97 campaigns.
Strong Down The Stretch
An early trend for the Cowgirls has been then strong second-half showings offensively. The pattern began in the squad's final exhibition as OSU put together a 60-point effort against East Central. In the season opener, the Cowgirls poured in 51 points against Air Force before a 53-point outburst against Lamar.
