“We're very excited about the additions of Keiton and Dee to the Cowboy Basketball program,” said head coach Sean Sutton. “They both fill specific needs with the personnel we will have returning next season. Both are talented and terrific young men who will represent our program in a positive manner. I'm looking forward to the opportunity to coach both of them next season.”
Page, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound point guard at Pawnee High School, was a two-time Daily Oklahoman Super 5 selection in 2006 and 2007.
A sharp-shooting specialist, Page was second in the state in scoring in 2007 at 36 points per game. He connected on 139-of-273 shots from beyond the three-point arc, good for 50.9 percent. He also shot 85.6 percent from the free-throw line, making 160-of-187 attempts at the charity stripe.
Page led the Black Bears to the Class 2A state championship in 2005, scoring 29 points in the title game over top-ranked Wewoka. Pawnee won, 66-65.
A phenomenal all-around player, Page had 201 assists his junior season, one of just five players in the entire state of Oklahoma to dish out at least 200 assists in 2006-07. He also recorded 155 steals, the most in Class 2A and above.
“Keiton is a skilled player,” said assistant coach James Dickey. “He is an excellent student and and outstanding shooter. He will be a great addition to our basketball program and to Oklahoma State University. Keiton is an extremely hard worker who is a winner. He comes from a basketball family and we are very pleased to sign another big-time player from the state of Oklahoma.”
Demetrius Proby, a sophomore at Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas, is a big-bodied post player at 6-foot-9, 250 pounds. He averaged 6.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game last season in 31 games. Through five games this year, he is averaging 13 points and eight boards per contest.
Originally from Round Rock, Texas, a suburb of Austin, Proby attended Stony Point High School He was named the team Most Valuable Player and was a first-team all-district selection his senior season. He was also named to the Austin All-Star game in 2005.
“Dee is a very talented front-line player that we expect to come in and contribute to our team next year,” said assistant coach Kyle Keller. “For a strong post player, he has the ability to step out and shoot the three-point shot as well as score in the paint. His experience will also be a key addition for our front line next season.”
Proby was also recruited by West Virginia, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Charlotte.
