TULSA, Okla. Â Oklahoma State sophomore Oleksandr Nedovyesov advanced to the quarterfinals of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tournament on Friday.
Nedovyesov, a sophomore from Alushta, Ukraine, defeated Pepperdine's Andre Begemann (6-3, 6-2) in the round of 16 to advance to Saturday's quarterfinals action. Nedevyesov entered the tournament ranked 15th in the country.
On Thursday, Nedovyesov captured a victory over Fresno State's Rudolf Siwy (6-3, 7-6(0)) in the first round before defeating Oklahoma's Andrei Daescu (6-2, 6-7(7), 6-2) in second-round action.
Ivan Puchkarov, a Cowboy senior from Simfevopol, Ukraine, advanced through two rounds to today's round of 16 before falling to Georgia's Travis Helgeson (6-3, 6-2).
Nedovyesov will be matched up against Greg Quellette of Florida with the winner earning a spot in the semifinals.
