Puchkarov, Nedovyesov Advance at Polo Ralph Lauren Championships

Puchkarov, a senior from Simfevopol, Ukraine, defeated Florida State's Sam Chang (6-3, 3-6, 6-2) in first-round action before defeating Hawaii's Andreas Weber (6-2, 6-1) in the second round. Puchkarov entered the tournament ranked 15th in the country.

“Ivan was able to play really well against Chang. He played great in the third set to move on and then looked good in the afternoon match against (Weber).”
Cowboy sophomore Dmytro Petrov, who advanced to the main draw by sweeping his way through the qualifying rounds earlier this week, fell to Michigan's Matko Maravic, (6-4, 7-6(4)) in the first round.
“Petrov played really well today,” said Wadley. “He was matched up against some very tough competition, but he still played a great couple of matches. He played extremely well early in the week to get to the main draw.”
