Cowgirl Basketball Picked Fifth In Preseason Big 12 Poll

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team was picked fifth in the 2007-08 Big 12 preseason poll voted on by the league's coaches.
Defending conference co-champion Texas A&M was picked first in the poll, receiving seven of the 12 first-place votes. The Aggies tallied 117 total points on the ballot, while OSU checked in with 66.
The Cowgirls return six players from last year's squad that recorded the largest turnaround in the nation. In its second year under head coach Kurt Budke, OSU posted a 20-11 record and earned their first NCAA Tournament berth since 1996.
Included among the squad's list of returning players are senior guard Danielle Green and sophomore guard Andrea Riley. Green earned honorable mention all-league honors last season, while Riley was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year.
Big 12 head coaches and selected student-athletes will tip-off the 2007-08 season at the annual Big 12 Basketball Media Day on Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Kansas City - site of the 2008 Phillips 66 Big 12 Basketball Championships.
