TULSA, Okla. - Cowboy junior Nathan Byrnes fell in the fourth round of the pre-qualifying singles draw of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American on Sunday.
After receiving a bye in the first round, Byrnes picked up a win over Auburn's Terence Nugent 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-4, in the second round on Saturday to advance to Sunday's matchup against Stetson's Fllip Kricka. Byrnes defeated Kricka 6-1, 6-3 in the third-round matchup before meeting Kreigler Brink of TCU in the fourth round. In that match, Byrnes fell to Brink 6-2, 6-2.
OSU junior Dmytro Petrov will get things started for the Cowboys tomorrow against Alabama's Dan Buikema in the first round of the men's singles qualifying round. That match will begin at 9 a.m. at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus.
