Cowboy Tennis Extends Success on the Court to Classroom

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team finished last season ranked No. 15 in the country and are poised for more success this season not only on the court but in the classroom were the program had an outstanding fall semester.
The Cowboy tennis team finished the fall semester with an outstanding team grade point average of 3.37. In fact, seven of the eight players on the roster finished the fall with a 3.0 GPA or better.
“This is really something we can be proud of,” head coach James Wadley said. “For these men to do what they do on the court as well as in the classroom is something special.”
Two Cowboy netters, Alex Kotsiuk and James Nguyen finished with perfect 4.0 GPAs and were named to the President's Honor Roll (4.0 GPA).
Artie Burmistrau, Nathan Byrnes and Jason Wright had GPAs of 3.50 or better and were named to the Dean's Honor Roll (3.50 to 3.99 GPA).
Felipe Diaz and Ivan Puchkarov also contributed to the Cowboy's success with GPAs of 3.0 or better.
The Cowboy's will look to carry over their success in the classroom from this fall as they open the 2007 season as one of eight teams that will compete at the Central Region playoffs January 19-20. The winner of the playoff will advance to the 2007 ITA Indoor Championships later in January.
