Postgame Quotes
On the game
“Our players worked so hard, and we did not want to see the game end the way it did against Texas Tech. Tonight, the breaks went our way and we found a way to get them stopped. We also did a good job pulling away with the loose ball at the end. We were able to finish this game. I hope we learned a lot from the loss to Texas Tech because Colorado has a good team. They (Colorado) have two legitimate scorers that teams in this league would love to have. I think the key to the game was stopping (Ilic) in the second half. She had 13 points going into half time and we held her to three in the second half. We had some missed assignments in the first half that we have gone over and over for two days. I was a little disappointed in that. Overall, I was happy with the girls because we found a way to win.”
On getting second chance points
“We thought that this was a team that we could do a good job rebounding against. We thought we could grab some offensive boards and we did that tonight. I thought that was the difference in the ball game because of our ability to get second chance points.”
On the poor shooting
“Obviously, we did not shoot very well tonight as we were 4-21 on three-point attempts. There were a lot of wide open shots we could have hit. I think the reason why our shooting percentage has been low is us not being able to find a rhythm and there are a lot of good defensive rebounding teams in the conference. In this league, we see a lot stronger and quicker athletes than we faced before conference play. We have to find a way to make more baskets.”
On Oklahoma State's defense
“On the defensive side, I thought the start of the second half helped us kind of feel that we gained control of the game a little bit. You just don't want to keep fighting from behind all the time. I thought defensively we did a lot better job tonight of guarding people the way we are supposed to guard them.”
