OSU Memorial Open Before Saturday Basketball Games
January 25, 2007 | Cowboy Basketball
The memorial will be open for the public to visit, leave tributes, express their thoughts or simply reflect on the lives of those who were lost.
At 6:37 p.m. on Saturday (the crash took place at approximately 5:37 p.m. Mountain time), the OSU Library Carillon will toll 10 times in memory of the victims. As he has done on each anniversary, OSU Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. David Bosserman, will lay a wreath at the crash site memorial in Colorado.
This weekend will also officially launch efforts for the inaugural “Remember The 10 Run” that will be held in Stillwater on April 21st. Proceeds from the event will be donated to OSU Counseling Services.
For the first time, the anniversary falls on the date of a home basketball game as both the Oklahoma State men (vs. Iowa State at 7 p.m.) and women (vs. Baylor at 1:30 p.m.) will play in Gallagher-Iba Arena on Saturday.
The memorial will be open all day Friday. On Saturday, doors to the memorial will open at 10 a.m. and remain open through the Baylor-Oklahoma State women's game before being closed. Gallagher-Iba Arena will be cleared after the women's game and will re-open at 5:30 p.m. with a ticket to the men's game required for entry at that time.
