Cowboys host Bulldogs
Oklahoma State plays its final non-conference game of the regular season on Tuesday night as the Cowboys host Southwestern Oklahoma State.
OSU is 13-1 this season and coming off an 84-47 win over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs are 10-0 this season and defeated Southwestern Christian 138-67 on Dec. 20.
SWOSU is an NCAA Division II school located in Weatherford, Okla.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series with Oklahoma State 6-4, although the two teams have not met on the hardwood in nearly 70 years.
The last meeting between these two schools came in December of 1938, when then Oklahoma A&M College defeated Southwestern State 38-17 in the All-College Classic in Oklahoma City.
Game Rewind Highlights
JamesOn Curry scored 24 points and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career as the Cowboys defeated UT-San Antonio 84-47 Saturday night inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Mario Boggan added a double-double for OSU with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Sophomores Terrel Harris and Kenny Cooper each added 15 points for the Cowboys.
Coopers 15 points marked a career high as did his eight rebounds.
Oklahoma State shot 55 percent from the floor while limiting the Roadrunners to under 39 percent.
The Cowboys also outrebounded UTSA by 18, 39-21.
OSU forced 21 turnovers and converted those miscues into 30 points.
The Roadrunners set several season lows by a Cowboy opponent this season: points (47), rebounds (21), assists (six), and three-point field-goal percentage (1-of-10 10 percent).
Oklahoma State is now 136-2 in non-conference home games over the last 20 seasons.
Oklahoma State Among Nations Best
Oklahoma State is one of 11 teams with 13 or more victories so far this season nationally.
Others are: Clemson (14-0), Wisconsin (14-1), UCLA and Oregon (13-0), Air Force and Butler (13-1), Marquette, Maryland, Michigan State and UNLV (13-2).
Oklahoma States 92.9 winning percentage is the fifth-best mark in the country.
When combined with the Cowgirl Basketball program, Oklahoma State as a whole is sporting a 24-2 record.
That ranks as the fourth-best combined record in the country.
20-Point Productions
JamesOn Curry scored a game-high 24 points against UT-San Antonio, giving OSU its 17th 20-point performance this season.
OSU didnt have a 20-point performer last season until the ninth game, when Curry scored 30 points against Mercer.
Last year, the Cowboys had 14 20-point outings all season long.
Mario Boggan has 10 20-point games this season, while Curry now has six. Terrel Harris had his first of the season with 20 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Balanced Attack
Oklahoma State has had 59 double-figure performances in 14 games this season.
Mario Boggan and JamesOn Curry have both reached double figures in all 14 games.
Freshman Obi Muonelo missed his first game of reaching double figures against Ball State. He sits at 10.
OSU has had five double-figure scorers in six different games this season: Florida Atlantic, Sam Houston State, Missouri State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Pepperdine and Pittsburgh.
Oklahoma State has had at least three double-figure scorers in all 14 games this season.
All-Time Series with the Bulldogs
Oklahoma State is 4-6 all-time against Southwestern Oklahoma State, although the last game in the series was nearly 70 years ago in December of 1938.
In that game, the Oklahoma A&M Aggies led 10-9 after the first 10 minutes, but took a 27-12 lead into the lockerroom and limited the Bulldogs to just five points after intermission.
Jesse Cab Renick led all scorers with 10 points while Southwestern Teachers was led by Losey Witherspoon with nine.
Ten different Aggies scored in the game.
