Cowgirl Basketball Hits The Road To Take On Iowa State
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (13-2 overall, 1-1 Big 12) will look to build on the momentum of its midweek victory over Kansas when it travels to Ames, Iowa on Saturday to take on Iowa State (13-3, 1-2) at 7 p.m. The win halted a 25-game losing streak against league foes for the Cowgirls, while the Cyclones come into play looking to remain undefeated at home.
Scouting The Cyclones
Iowa State enters the weekend having lost back-to-back road contests after falling 81-67 at Colorado on Wednesday night. The Cyclones opened Big 12 play with a 61-50 win against Kansas and have won all nine of their contests inside Hilton Coliseum this season. ISU leads the league with its 7.7 3-point field goals per game. The Cyclones are paced by Lyndsey Medders' 12.8 points per outing, while Toccara Ross is pulling a team-best 6.9 boards per game. Head coach Bill Fennelly is in his 12th season at ISU where he has compiled a 246-113 mark.
Series History
The Cowgirls own a 23-20 advantage overall against the Cyclones, but have lost the last two meetings, including a 90-65 setback two years ago in Ames. The two teams have split the previous 20 meetings in Ames, howeverthe Cyclones have prevailed in the last five meetings. The Cowgirls' last win inside Hilton Coliseum came on Feb. 4, 1996, a 59-57 victory.
