Dominique Chism Signs Financial Aid Agreement With Cowgirl Basketball Program
June 01, 2006 | Cowgirl Basketball
Chism, a 6-1 post player, comes to the OSU program from Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College where she averaged 12.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game last season as a sophomore. The Dallas, Texas native shot 52.6 percent from the floor and averaged 2.2 steals and 1.3 assists per game as well while helping the Lady Cards to the Region XIV title.
In addition, she was rated as the No. 2 junior college power forward in the country and the No. 16 player overall by the All-Star Girls Report. Chism chose the Cowgirls over Boston College, Fresno State, Miami (Fla.) and Missouri.
“Dominique is an outstanding athlete who can guard anyone at the three, four or five spots,” Budke said. “She is a great addition for us, because she can really run, rebound and defend.”
The addition of Chism brings the number of Cowgirl newcomers for the upcoming season to nine. OSU added seven players during the fall and spring signing periods and has two players who sat out the 2005-06 season due to NCAA transfer guidelines.
