Daniel Byrnes Set to Compete for Individual NCAA Championship

Oklahoma State tennis player Daniel Byrnes will compete for the 2006 NCAA Men's Individual Tennis Championship starting on Wednesday in Palo Alto, Calif.
Byrnes, who is currently ranked 13th in the country, is one of 64 individuals invited to participate in the tournament. The junior will face Rice's Robert Searle, who is ranked 28th in the latest ITA Rankings, in the first round. The two met on February 3rd, the second match of the season for the Pokes, and Byrnes was victorious in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4.
Byrnes sports a 13-7 dual record this season and is 12-8 against the field of 64. The
The round of 64 will start on Wednesday at 10 a.m., on the Stanford campus and proceed until May 29th.
