Cowgirl Golfers move up five spots to 16th place

“We definitely played better today and I'm proud of the team for fighting back and for their determination,” said head coach Laura Matthews.
Cowgirl freshman Karin Kinnerud continues to lead OSU, carding an even-par 72 and moving up 48 spots to 22nd place individually. Junior Mallorie Underwood finished with a 74 and moved up 38 spots to 62nd place. She is tied with freshman Pernilla Lindberg, who recorded a 76. Junior Candie Herrera is two strokes back at 155, while freshman Amanda Johnson rounds out the Cowgirl scores with a 161.
Arizona State has a three-stroke lead over second place Duke in the team race. USC is in third, five strokes back, while Tennessee, Purdue and Pepperdine round out the top-five.
Oklahoma State had moved up as high as 11th place through 13 holes before shooting eight-over on the final five.
“We're having a tough time finishing,” Matthews said. “We just have to play better the next two days.”
