No. 27 Cowboys defeat Oral Roberts, 7-0
February 26, 2006 | Cowboy Tennis
The Cowboys (3-1) cruised to the early double's point before winning every singles match.
“The guys played really well and solid for the amount of time we've had off,” said coach James Wadley.
With sophomore Ivan Puchkarov held out due to an injury, freshman Olexsander Kotsiuk replaced him at doubles and helped Felipe Diaz defeat Antonio Salopek and Patrick Guilliod, 8-1, at the third position.
In singles, the Cowboys' biggest highlight came from senior Felipe Diaz, who won his first match of the season, defeating Clemons Geercken, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 4.
“Besides Felipe, I don't think anyone really stood out,” Wadley said. “It was a solid team effort.”
The Cowboys return to action Sunday in Oklahoma City when they face Missouri State at 10 a.m.
