Overview: Many other major universities with successful basketball teams have been forced to implement policies outlining procedures which will be in place for students waiting to watch home games. In the past, there has been a very informal method of admissions, one in which students make up the procedures based on mutual respect for rules, or lack thereof. With continued success of the men's basketball team, there is a constant outpouring of students wishing to camp out for several days prior to basketball games, and more strenuous regulations of these events must be implemented. This following plan will include a proposal for starting and ending camp dates, locations, times, sign-in procedures, facilities restrictions, and a way of enforcing the proposed policy.
What is this new policy?
This policy will outline the new procedures for camping outside Gallagher-Iba prior to basketball games, and will regulate admissions into the Arena on game days. This is the official camping policy as agreed upon by the Student Government Association and the athletic department, and will remain the authority on admissions procedures.
