Eddie Sutton in good, stable condition following auto accident
February 11, 2006 | Cowboy Basketball
Oklahoma State University's head basketball coach Eddie Sutton is resting in good, stable condition this evening at the Stillwater Medical Center following an auto accident on his way to the Stillwater Municipal Airport around 5:45 p.m. Friday to board the team plane for College Station, Texas where the Cowboys will play Texas A&M on Saturday.  At a press conference around 9:30 p.m. Friday night, OSU officials reported Coach Sutton suffered bumps, bruises and lacerations from the accident.  Officials reiterated Coach Sutton's injuries are not serious and doctors expect a quick recovery. He is expected to be dismissed from the medical center Saturday.   Coach Sutton told OSU officials he expects to be watching his OSU Cowboys play the Aggies tomorrow on television and he looks forward to rejoining the team in the coming days. He thanked the entire OSU family for their thoughts and prayers.   OSU System CEO and President David Schmidly said he was relieved to learn Coach Sutton and the occupant of the other car involved in the accident (who was treated for minor injuries and released Friday night) were both going to be fine.  “We are grateful there were no serious injures and encouraged by Coach Sutton's desire to rejoin his team as soon as possible. Our thoughts are with Coach, Patsy and their entire family.”  Media note: OSU will post updates as warranted on this site.
