The two teams battled back and forth through the first 20 minutes as the first half saw the squads exchange the lead six times and tie the score nine times before Hawaii (6-6) took a 33-30 lead into the half behind the strength of a 5-of-13 effort from the 3-point line.
After the break, OSU used a 20-4 run to open a 13-point advantage and quickly shift the game's momentum. However, the Rainbow Wahine answered with a 9-0 run of their own to tie the game at 56 apiece with 6:21 remaining.
A 3-pointer by junior Danielle Green pushed the Cowgirl margin back to four before freshman Andrea Riley and senior Rashidat Sadiq took over down the stretch. The duo combined for 15 of the squad's final 17 points to secure the win.
Riley earned tournament MVP honors after following up her 14-point, nine-assist outing in the opener against Columbia with 12 points and eight assists in the title game.
Sadiq joined Riley on the all-tournament team after finishing with 19 points, six rebounds and four assists against
Sophomore Shaunte' Smith finished with a season-high 18 points against UH, while Green added 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds on the night.
