Postgame Notes vs. Pepperdine
Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006
Oklahoma State set a season high with 25 assists vs. Pepperdine, surpassing the 22 assists in the season opener. It is also the most by the Cowboys since dishing out 26 vs. Detroit last season, a span of 39 games.
Oklahoma State recorded seven blocked shots today vs. the Waves. It is the most by the Cowboys this season. The last time OSU had seven blocked shots was last year vs. Texas Tech, a span of 14 games.
OSU had at least five different Cowboys reach double figures for the fifth time in nine games this season.
Senior forward Mario Boggan recorded his fourth-career double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. His 13 rebounds set a career high.
Oklahoma State outrebounded its opponent for just the third time this season. It was the largest rebounding margin since a 15-rebound margin against Iowa State last season in the Big 12 Tournament, a span of 11 games.
The Cowboy defense has given up at least 70 points in each of the last three games.
Freshman guard Obi Muonelo reached double figures for the ninth-consecutive time to start his career, continuing to add to his own record as a freshman. His 16 points matched a career high. He also dished out a career-high seven assists.
Oklahoma State has made 36 of its last 43 shots from the free-throw line, good for 83.7 percent.
The Cowboy defense gave up 55 points to Pepperdine in the second half. OSU has given up 50 or more points in a half on just five occasions in the last eight years. The most in that time frame was 53 by Texas Tech on Jan. 19, 2002, in the second half (Tech won, 94-70). In fact, Oklahoma State has held its opponent to fewer than 55 points in a game on 21 occasions in the last 3-plus seasons, back to the start of the 2003-04 season.
