Cowgirl Basketball Knocks Off Texas Southern, 94-46

With the win, OSU (10-1) moved to 9-0 this season at home and reached double figures in the win column for the first time since winning 16 games in 2001-02. Coupled with their 92-37 win over Southern Utah on Monday night, the victory also gave the Cowgirls their first back-to-back 90-point outings since the 1988-89 season.
In the first half, the Cowgirls capitalized on 17 Tiger (2-7) turnovers, scoring 26 points off TSU miscues to pull away and head into the break with 50-19 lead. For the game, OSU scored 35 points to just eight by the Tigers off turnovers.
The Cowgirls held a decided advantage inside and off the bench as they outscored TSU 44-14 in the paint, while the OSU reserves outscored the Tiger bench 48-17.
For the second consecutive game, junior Maria Cordero was strong off the bench, recording career highs with 24 points and 13 rebounds. The Santa Barbara, Calif. native's totals gave her the third double-double of her career.
Three other players joined Cordero in double figures as junior Danielle Green scored 15 points, while senior Rashidat Sadiq and junior Rita Kollo added 10 apiece.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Dec. 29 when they travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on Columbia in the first round of the Hawaii Invitational.
