Anderson, a senior at Junction City High School in Junction City, Ark., held a press conference at his high school Wednesday afternoon to announce his decision to play for the Cowboys. The 6-6, 190 pound small forward selected Oklahoma State after narrowing his choices to OSU and Kansas.
“I would like to thank all of the coaches for coming out to recruit me,” said Anderson at his press conference. “I had some hard choices and went with the two schools that I felt more comfortable with. It came down to Kansas and Oklahoma State. The one that I thought was the best is Oklahoma State.”
Anderson is considered the 24th-best high school prospect in the country according to Scout.com, a national recruiting service. He is also listed as the No. 3 off-guard in the nation.
“James knew about his decision but nobody else did,” said Joe Hammett, Junction City High School head coach. “Coach Sutton had been down to Junction City and I just think that James felt that, besides Coach Sutton being a basketball coach, he also felt a personal interest in James.”
Anderson averaged 31 points and 12 rebounds per game his junior season, and also had scholarship offers from Arkansas, Florida and Kentucky, according to Rivals.com.
Sidorakis, a senior at Jenks High School in Jenks, Okla., has been committed to the Cowboys since April, but made it official at a press conference at his high school on Wednesday afternoon.
“I like him because he does a lot of things well,” said Sutton. “He's got a lot of savvy on the court. He's really a smart player. He's capable of playing a couple of different positions on the court. He's a tough competitor and a hard worker.”
The 6-5, 180 pound shooting guard was named honorable mention All-Class 6A last season. He averaged 14.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists during his junior year. He shot 52 percent from the floor, including 38 percent from long range, and was an 81-percent shooter from the free throw line. Nick ranked 10th in assists with 100 and 11th with 60 steals in Class 6A.
