Cowboys Defeat Pittsburg State, 84-67, in Exhibition Action

Senior forward Mario Boggan scored 33 points on 14-of-22 shooting from the floor. He also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Junior guard JamesOn Curry scored 24 points, including 16 in the second half, and dished out a game-high six assists.
Carlos Taylor, a native of Tulsa, Okla., scored a team-high 16 points for Pittsburg State. Daniel Blair added 13 for the Gorillas, while Ed Morris chipped in 10.
Oklahoma State led by as many as 19 points with just under 10 minutes remaining in the game, but could not put the Gorillas away for good. PSU scored six-consecutive points to pull within 13 with 6:37 to go in the game, but the Cowboys built the lead back to 18 with 2-1/2 minutes remaining on a steal and fast-break dunk by Curry.
The Cowboys shot 55 percent from the floor, but allowed Pittsburg State to shoot 42.9 percent from the field, including 50 percent in the first half which kept the Gorillas in the game. OSU also struggled from the free-throw line, connecting on just 14-of-22 from the charity stripe.
Oklahoma State will play its final exhibition game on Tuesday, Nov. 7, as the Cowboys host Oklahoma Baptist in a 7 p.m. tipoff inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
