Cowgirl Basketball Receives Votes In Latest AP Poll
November 28, 2006 | Cowgirl Basketball
The Cowgirls tallied six points in the poll after posting victories over Southern, Pacific and Fresno State last week to improve to 5-0 on the year. With its win Sunday over the Bulldogs, OSU now owns three victories this season over teams that reached the postseason a year ago and are just one win shy of their total last season.
“We are honored to be receiving votes at the point in the season,” Cowgirl head coach Kurt Budke said. “I tell the girls every night out that people are watching and I think the first five games are a reflection that things are changing at Oklahoma State and we are going to be competitive.”
The Cowgirls last appeared in the AP Poll during the 1995-96 season, spending 10 consecutive weeks ranked in the top 25.
OSU will be back in action on Thursday when it hosts Missouri-Kansas City at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
