Postgame Notes vs. Sam Houston State
Sunday, Nov. 19, 2006
Senior forward Mario Boggan has now connected on 18-consecutive free throws. He went 9-of-9 from the line in each of the last two games. He missed his last free-throw attempt against Northwestern State.
Boggan's 21 points against the Bearkats marked his third-consecutive 20-point game.
Oklahoma State reached double figures in steals for the fourth-consecutive game vs. Sam Houston State. The last time OSU had at least 10 steals in four-straight games was during the 2002-03 season when the Cowboys had at least 10 steals in eight-consecutive games from Dec. 8 until Jan. 11 of that season.
Senior forward David Monds matched a career high with his 17 points. He set the mark with 17 vs. Jackson State on Nov. 20, 2005, and equalled that mark with 17 vs. Texas on Feb. 19, 2006.
Head Coach Sean Sutton became just the third head coach in school history to win his first four games as the Cowboys head man, joining his father, Eddie Sutton, and Jim Killingsworth, who began his career in 1977. If the Cowboys win their next game (against Southern on Tuesday night), Sean will become the first Cowboy head coach to win his first five games.
Freshman guard Obi Muonelo reached double figures for the fourth-straight game with 11 against the Bearkats. He joins Byron Houston, OSU's all-time leading scorer, as the only two players in the last 30 years to have scored in double figures in each of his first four games as a freshman.
Sophomore guard Terrel Harris scored a season-high 18 points vs. the Bearkats.
Junior guard/forward Marcus Dove recorded a career-high five steals.
