Cowboy Basketball Signs Ibrahima Thomas to National LOI
November 14, 2006 | Cowboy Basketball
“This is a perfect situation for me at Oklahoma State,” Thomas said. “The great academics, basketball tradition, Coach (Sean) Sutton and his staff were just what I was looking for in a school.”
Thomas, originally from Dakar, Senegal, received a three-star ranking from Rivals.com and is considered one of the top-20 players in the state of California. He was also rated as the No. 81 player in the country by Clark Francis, a basketball recruiting expert.
“Oklahoma State is getting an extremely skilled wing player that is an excellent outside shooter,” said Stoneridge head coach Babacar Sy. “Thomas' skill, length and versatility fits well with the style of play Coach Sutton utilizes. Ibrahima has a huge upside given his rapidly evolving physical maturity. He is equally adept at stepping out to shoot a three pointer as he is at posting up around the basket.”
Thomas chose the Cowboys after also making recruiting visits to Auburn, Ball State, Fresno State and Rutgers.
Thomas joins Martavius Adams, a post player from Irwinton, Ga.; James Anderson, an off-guard from Junction City, Ark.; and Nick Sidorakis, a shooting guard from Jenks, Okla., in OSU's 2007 recruiting class.
