Cowgirl Basketball Takes Part In 2006 Basketball Bash

Head coach Kurt Budke's squad conducted a 12-minute scrimmage with the black squad prevailing over the white team, 15-11.
Senior center Christian Hood led all scorers with six points and grabbed a team-best five rebounds, while freshman guard Andrea Riley added four points and two steals.
Junior forward Rita Kollo paced the white squad with five points while junior guard Danielle Green and senior forward Destanie Sykes both grabbed three rebounds.
Four Cowgirls, Kollo, Riley, senior forward Rashidat Sadiq and freshman guard Christina Fox were paired with four members of the men's team in a 3-point shooting contest as well.
Sadiq and teammate Mario Boggan squared off with Riley and Byron Eaton in the finals after registering a combined 24 and 22 3-pointers, respectively, in the first round. Sadiq and Boggan outlasted Eaton and Riley by a 20-18 count to win the competition.
The Cowgirls will begin exhibition play at home on Nov. 4 when they host the Oklahoma Flyers at 7 p.m. in Stillwater.
