Ivan Puchkarov Advances to Main Draw at USA FL6 Tournament

Oklahoma State junior Ivan Puchkarov continued his outstanding fall by winning three matches to advance to the main draw at the USA FL6 Tournament in Dallas.
Puchkarov, ranked 61st by the ITA, quickly put away Jason Holland, 6-0, 6-1, in the qualifying round of 64.
In the round of 32, Puchkarov dropped the first set to Alex Menichini, 6-4, but rebounded and rolled in the final two sets, 6-2, 6-2.
In the qualifying round, Puchkarov got another straight-sets victory as he defeated Dave Lingman, 6-1, 7-6 (2), to advance to the main draw of the tournament. The main draw of the tournament will feature 32 players and is scheduled to begin on Wednesday.
The tournament performance continues the strong play of Puchkarov, last season's Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. Earlier this month, Puchkarov advanced through the qualifying rounds of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tournament to the round of 16 at the prestigious tournament in Tulsa. He was defeated in the round of 16 by Tulsa's Arnau Brugues, who would go on to win the tournament.
