Cowgirl Basketball Travels To Norman To Face Oklahoma
January 30, 2006 | Cowgirl Basketball
Oklahoma State's women's basketball team (6-13, 0-8) will travel down I-35 to Norman for this season's second installment of the Bedlam Series against in-state rival Oklahoma (17-4, 7-0) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Cowgirls dropped the first meeting, 85-51, on Jan. 14 in Stillwater and are currently in the midst of an eight-game slide overall. The win over OSU started the Sooners' current five-game winning streak that was extended with their victory over Texas A&M on Saturday. The contest will be televised by the Sooner Sports Network.
Scouting The Sooners
Oklahoma enters Tuesday night's tilt having won its last five games after winning at Texas A&M on Saturday. Sherri Coale's squad currently sits atop the Big 12 standings at 7-0 and has won seven of its eight games at home this season. The Sooners' lone setback in Norman came on Dec. 21 at the hands of Michigan State. Courtney Paris leads the OU attack, checking in at 21.2 points and 14.8 rebounds per game. The freshman is tops in the league in both categories. The Sooners lead the all-time series 42-34 after their win earlier this season in Stillwater. OU holds a 22-11 advantage at home against the Cowgirls and has won seven straight in Norman. OSU's last road victory in the series came in 1998, a 76-54 triumph.
Up Next
OSU will return home to take on Baylor on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
What 2 Watch 4
An OSU win would snap a 15-game skid against Big 12 schools that includes the conference tourney ... a win would halt the Sooners' 14-game winning streak in the series.
